The overriding goal of the CICT meeting is to promote high quality, patient-centered, clinical and technical decision-making in the field of Interventional Cardiovascular Medicine. Emphasis will be placed on promoting the importance of critical thinking and clinical judgment in interpreting the Interventional Cardiovascular Medicine evidence-based database. Invited faculty will pre-sent the “clinician’s perspective” on how to incorporate information from the ever growing evidencebased medicine database into a rational patient centered practice through case-based workshops.
The content of this meeting will address a wide range of complex cardiovascular interventional topics that still present a challenge to the clinician with respect to choosing the appropriate therapy (surgery vs. catheter-based therapy) and with respect to using optimal technique to ensure the safety and efficacy of the procedure.

Learning Objectives
|
• Critically evaluate how evidence-based interventional cardiovascular medicine should be incorporated into decision-making at the individual patient level.
• Recognize the importance of appropriate triage of high-risk patients with complex coronary structural and peripheral arterial disease to surgery vs. endovascular intervention.
• Appraise technical “tips and tricks” to maximize success and reduce complications in complex cardiovascular interventions.
• Describe methods to prevent and manage a wide range of potential complications in coronary structural and peripheral interventions.
